About

A supportive space to understand, heal and move forward

Thrive Therapy is a psychotherapy and counselling practice founded and led by Julia O'Regan, an accredited psychotherapist.

We provide compassionate, professional support for individuals and couples experiencing emotional difficulties, relationship challenges and significant life transitions.

Our approach is warm, respectful and non-judgemental. Every aspect of the practice is guided by a commitment to providing therapy that is safe, thoughtful and responsive to each person’s individual circumstances.

Julia brings empathy, professional experience and a deeply person-centred approach to her work, helping clients feel heard, understood and supported throughout the therapeutic process.

How We Help

Therapy shaped around you

Every person who comes to therapy brings their own history, relationships, values and way of experiencing the world. For that reason, therapy should never feel like a one-size-fits-all process.

We work collaboratively with you to understand what you are experiencing and what you would like to change. Depending on your needs, therapy may help you process difficult experiences, recognise recurring patterns, communicate more effectively, develop healthier ways of coping or gain greater clarity about the path ahead.

You do not need to have everything figured out before contacting us. Therapy can begin simply with a conversation about where you are now.

Couples Counselling

Helping couples understand and reconnect

Relationships can become strained through conflict, communication difficulties, loss of trust, emotional distance or the pressures of everyday life. Couples counselling provides a calm and balanced space in which both partners can feel heard.

We support couples to:

Understand recurring patterns of conflict

Communicate more openly and effectively

Rebuild trust and emotional connection

Navigate intimacy or sexual difficulties

Work through significant changes or pressures

Explore uncertainty about the future of the relationship

Make thoughtful decisions about staying together or separating

The purpose of couples counselling is not to take sides or assign blame. It is to help both people understand what is happening within the relationship and consider how they want to move forward.

Separation, Divorce & Life Afterwards

Support through endings and new beginnings

The end of a relationship can bring grief, uncertainty, anger, loneliness and profound changes to everyday life. Whether separation is being considered, is already underway or happened some time ago, therapy can provide a steady place to process what has happened.

We provide support for individuals and couples navigating:

The decision to separate

The emotional impact of separation or divorce

Communication during a relationship breakdown

Changes in family and home life

Co-parenting and new family arrangements

Grief, anger, guilt or loss of identity

Rebuilding confidence and independence

Beginning again after a relationship has ended

Where a couple has decided to separate, counselling can support more respectful communication and help both people navigate the transition with greater clarity and care.

There is no set timeline for recovering from the end of a relationship. Support is available during the separation itself and throughout the period of adjustment that follows.

Grief, Loss & Life Transitions

Finding your way through change

Loss can take many forms. It may involve bereavement, the end of a relationship, changes within a family, illness, retirement, relocation or the loss of a future you had expected.

Significant transitions can affect our sense of identity, security and direction. Therapy provides space to acknowledge what has changed, process the emotions involved and gradually begin adapting to life as it is now.

Fees & Format

Face-to-face and online therapy

We offer both face-to-face and online appointments, allowing you to choose the format that best suits your needs and circumstances.

Face-to-face sessions take place at our practice in Cork. Online sessions are available to clients throughout Ireland and offer greater flexibility for those who cannot attend in person.

We believe therapy should be as accessible as possible. A limited number of lower-cost counselling appointments are available from €50, depending on individual circumstances and availability.

Please contact us to discuss appointment availability, session fees or any questions you may have before beginning.

You do not have to navigate it alone

Taking the first step towards therapy can feel difficult, particularly when you are already overwhelmed or uncertain about what you need.

You are welcome to contact us for an initial conversation. We can discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer your questions and consider whether Thrive Therapy is the right fit for you.
